Top Tips for Perfecting

  • Use Frozen Veggies: They save time and work great in this recipe.
  • Protein Swap: Try turkey or shrimp instead of chicken for variety.
  • Hands Off: Avoid lifting the lid while simmering to trap steam and cook the rice evenly.
  • Make It Cheesy: Add shredded cheddar or mozzarella for extra comfort.
  • Boost with Herbs: Fresh parsley or cilantro adds a fresh, herby note.

Storing and Reheating Tips

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of broth if needed. For microwave reheating, use short intervals and stir often. To freeze, let the dish cool completely and store in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.

Obviously the photo doesn’t match the end product because if you’re adding all of the barbecue sauce in at the end when you have all of the chicken and rice and veggies combined then the barbecue sauce will not just be coating the chicken. Anyway, It’s an okay easy recipe but come on, don’t use a fake stock photo.
