Ingredients Overview

Pie Crust

Apples

  • Why This Ingredient? Apples are the centerpiece of the filling, bringing sweetness and a slight tartness that echoes classic apple pie.
  • Health Benefits: Apples are high in fiber and vitamin C, which are great for digestive health and immune support.

Cinnamon and Sugar

  • Why These Ingredients? Cinnamon and sugar are mixed with the apples to enhance the flavor, giving the fries their characteristic warm, spiced taste.
  • Health Benefits: Cinnamon is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and can help regulate blood sugar levels.

Substitutions

For those with specific dietary preferences or restrictions, consider these alternatives:

  • Pie Crust: Gluten-free or vegan pie crust can be used to accommodate dietary needs.
  • Apples: Pears or peaches can be substituted for a different twist on the traditional apple filling.
  • Sugar: Coconut sugar or a sugar substitute like stevia can be used to lower the glycemic index.
