Ingredients

Pie Crust

  • 2 crusts Refrigerated Pie Crust Thawed if frozen

Apple Filling

  • 2 medium Apples Peeled and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 large Egg Beaten for egg wash
  • to taste Additional Sugar and Cinnamon For sprinkling

Dipping Sauce

  • to serve Caramel Sauce For dipping
  • to serve Whipped Cream For dipping

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix the chopped apples with sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  • Roll out the pie crusts on a flat surface. Spread the apple mixture over one crust, leaving a small border around the edges. Place the second crust on top. Cut into strips (about 1 inch wide) and then into fry shapes.
  • Brush the top of each 'fry' with the beaten egg and sprinkle with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
  • Transfer the fries to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  • Serve warm with caramel sauce or whipped cream for dipping.

Notes

Store Apple Pie Fries in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven to restore crispiness before serving.
