Ingredients

Pasta

  • 8 ounces pasta (any type)

Broccoli

  • 2 cups broccoli florets

Oil

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Garlic

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Cheese

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Seasoning

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Add the broccoli to the boiling water during the last 3 minutes of cooking.
  • Drain the pasta and broccoli, but don’t forget to save about 1/2 cup of the pasta water!
  • In the same pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  • Return the drained pasta and broccoli to the pot. Mix in the grated Parmesan cheese. If it’s too dry, slowly add in the reserved pasta water until you get that perfect light sauce.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if you want some heat. Serve it right away and enjoy!

Notes

This dish is best served warm. You can add extra Parmesan on top for a cheesy finish. Pair it with a simple salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
