Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Saucepan
  • Pie Plate

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1/2 cup Butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour

Filling

  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 6 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1 package (6-ounce) Strawberry jell-o
  • 3 pounds Strawberries, cleaned and de-stemmed

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Mix butter, sugar, and flour in a bowl until dough forms. Press into a greased deep-dish pie plate evenly across bottom and sides.
  • Bake the crust for 10–15 minutes or until lightly golden. Let cool completely.
  • In a saucepan, bring water, sugar, and cornstarch to a boil, stirring until thickened and clear.
  • Remove from heat and stir in strawberry jell-o until dissolved. Let the glaze cool slightly.
  • Fold in cleaned and de-stemmed strawberries.
  • Pour mixture into cooled pie crust and chill for at least 2–3 hours or until set.
  • Serve chilled with whipped cream, if desired.

Notes

Use firm, ripe strawberries for the best texture and taste. Let the jell-o mixture cool slightly before folding in berries to preserve their freshness. Store-bought crust is an easy shortcut!
