Cheese
10ozmozzarella string cheese(about 10 sticks)
Breading
1cupall-purpose flour
2largeeggs
1/4cupmilk
1cupItalian-style breadcrumbs
Oil
vegetable oilfor frying
cayenne pepper(optional, for a kick)
Instructions
Slice each string cheese stick into bite-sized pieces (3–4 per stick).
Set up three bowls: one with flour (and cayenne if using), one with whisked eggs and milk, one with breadcrumbs.
Dredge each piece in flour, then dip in egg wash, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
Optional: Chill breaded cheese bites in the freezer for 10–15 minutes for best results.
Heat 2 inches of oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C).
Fry 5–7 bites at a time for 30 seconds until golden, turning as needed.
Remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Repeat until all are fried. Serve warm with marinara, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For extra crunch, double-dip in the egg wash and breadcrumbs. Freeze before frying for extra gooey results. Air fryer and oven-friendly too!
