Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a bowl, melt the butter. Then mix it with 1 cup of sugar, 2 eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla until smooth.
Add in the cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder, and mix well. Spread this batter into your prepared pan, but reserve 1/4 of the batter for the top.
In another bowl, beat the cream cheese with 1/3 cup sugar, 1 egg, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla until it’s nice and smooth.
Spread the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter in the pan.
Take the reserved brownie batter and dollop it on top of the cream cheese layer. Use a knife to swirl it around for a marbled effect.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
Store any leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. If you want them to last longer, you can refrigerate them for up to a week.
