Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 can crescent roll dough 8 ounce can, separated into triangles

Hot Dogs

  • 8 pieces beef hot dogs room temperature or slightly warmed

Cheese

  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese cut into strips lengthwise

Egg Wash

  • 1 large egg beaten, optional for egg wash

Toppings

  • sesame seeds or bagel seasoning optional for topping

Dipping Sauces

  • honey mustard, ketchup, or ranch optional for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Open the crescent roll dough and separate it into the triangular portions provided in the can. If triangles are large, cut each one in half to create 16 smaller wrapping pieces.
  • Place a strip of mozzarella cheese on each piece of dough near the wider end.
  • Place a hot dog at the wider end of the dough and roll it up snugly, tucking the cheese inside as you roll.
  • If using an egg wash, lightly brush the top of each roll with beaten egg.
  • Arrange the pigs in a blanket on the prepared baking sheet with seam-side down.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

Store leftovers in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for best results.
