Equipment

  • Baking Dish
  • Skillet

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Ground beef (80–85% lean)
  • 1 bag (28–32 oz) Shoestring French fries (frozen)
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Yellow mustard
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise or burger sauce
  • 1 small Onion, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 cup Chopped pickles (optional, for topping)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to keep everything from sticking.
  • Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef and diced onion. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce (if using). Cook until the beef is browned and crumbly. Drain any excess fat.
  • Spread half of the frozen French fries in the bottom of your prepared baking dish.
  • Top the fries with half of the cooked beef mixture, then drizzle over about half of the ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise (or burger sauce).
  • Repeat by layering the remaining fries, the rest of the beef, and a second round of the three sauces.
  • Sprinkle on all the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, making sure the top is evenly covered.
  • Bake, uncovered, for 30–35 minutes or until the fries are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and starting to brown at the edges.
  • If using, garnish with chopped pickles and fresh parsley just before serving. Serve piping hot and enjoy your cheeseburger-meets-fry feast!

Notes

This bake is just as tasty the next day. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place individual portions in the microwave for 1–2 minutes or pop the whole dish (covered with foil) into a 350°F oven for about 15 minutes until everything is hot and the cheese is melted again.
