Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 can (10 1/2 ounce) Campbell's French onion soup
  • 1.5 lbs Ground beef
  • 0.5 cup Dry breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon Ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon All-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup
  • 1-3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon Mustard powder
  • 0.25 cup Water

Instructions

  • Preheat your skillet over medium-high heat. In a large bowl, combine beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Shape into four oval patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  • Add the patties to the hot skillet. Cook 4-5 minutes per side until evenly browned. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring continuously. Add French onion soup, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, and water. Stir until well combined and gravy thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Return patties to the skillet. Spoon gravy over the top. Cover and simmer on low for 10 minutes to meld the flavors.
  • Serve hot, drizzled with remaining gravy. Enjoy!
