Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Non-stick Skillet

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add the milk and melted butter. Whisk until smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Gently stir until just combined.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly brush with butter or oil.
  • Scoop about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until bubbles appear on the surface. Flip and cook another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  • Transfer to a plate, cover loosely with foil to keep warm, and repeat with the remaining batter.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For extra-rich pancakes, swap half the milk for buttermilk or add a splash of vanilla extract.
