1lblean ground beefbrowned and drained
1/2cuponiondiced (about half a small onion)
2clovesgarlicminced
1tbspWorcestershire sauce
15ozgreen beansdrained
10.75ozcondensed cream of mushroom soup
2cupsshredded cheddar cheese
2cupsfrozen tater tots
Salt and pepperto taste
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease an 8 or 9-inch baking dish.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 6 to 8 minutes. Break it up into small pieces as it cooks. Drain the excess fat and return beef to the skillet.
Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until translucent and soft. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Mix in 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir well to combine so the beef is evenly seasoned.
Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Spoon the condensed cream of mushroom soup over the beef, smoothing it into an even layer. Sprinkle the drained green beans evenly over the soup layer. Top with 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, spreading it to cover the surface.
Arrange the frozen tater tots on top of the cheese in a single layer, touching each other so the top crisps evenly.
Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until the tater tots are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. If the tops are browning too fast, tent loosely with foil for the last 10 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let stand for 5 minutes before serving so the casserole sets slightly. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
For best results, serve with a crisp garden salad or steamed vegetables to balance the richness of the casserole.
