Equipment

  • Skillet

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4 slices Bacon, diced
  • 1 small Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cans (14.5 oz each) Green beans, drained
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) Chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook diced bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, reserving the bacon grease in the skillet.
  • Add chopped onion to the skillet and sauté for 4–5 minutes until soft and translucent.
  • Add the drained green beans and chicken broth to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  • Stir in brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Simmer for 10–15 minutes to allow flavors to develop and the broth to reduce slightly.
  • Stir in the reserved bacon and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Serve hot, garnished with extra crispy bacon if desired.

Notes

Fresh green beans can be used instead of canned—just blanch before adding. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a skillet for best results. Add crispy onions on top for extra crunch!
