Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, brown sugar, melted butter, milk, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
In a separate bowl, combine pecans, flour, softened butter, and additional brown sugar to make a crumble topping.
Sprinkle the pecan topping over the sweet potato mixture.
Bake for 25 minutes, then add marshmallows on top (if using) and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a less sweet version, reduce the sugar or use a savory pecan topping. If using canned sweet potatoes, drain them well before mashing.
