  • 1 pound Fresh Strawberries, hulled and diced Make sure they are ripe for sweetness.
  • 2-3 pieces Jalapeno Peppers, seeded and finely chopped Adjust quantity based on desired spice level.
  • 2 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 1 tablespoon Powdered Fruit Pectin Can substitute with liquid pectin if needed.

Instructions

  • 1. Hull and dice the strawberries. Seed and finely chop the jalapenos, wearing gloves if necessary.
  • 2. In a large pot, combine the strawberries, jalapenos, sugar, lemon juice, and pectin. Stir well.
  • 3. Place the pot over medium-high heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  • 4. Allow to boil for about 10 minutes, or until thickened to your liking.
  • 5. To test consistency, drop a spoonful on a cold plate; if it holds its shape, it's ready.
  • 6. Pour the jam into sterilized jars while hot, seal tightly, and let cool to room temperature.
  • 7. Store in the refrigerator for up to three weeks or follow canning methods for longer storage.

Notes

Store in a clean jar in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks. You can also freeze it in airtight containers.
