Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Paper Towels

Ingredients

Protein

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • to taste salt
  • as needed tablespoons oil for cooking

Instructions

  • Step 1: Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel to ensure a good sear.
  • Step 2: In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, black pepper, garlic powder, ginger powder, and a pinch of salt to taste.
  • Step 3: In a large skillet, heat a couple of tablespoons of oil over medium heat until hot.
  • Step 4: Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Step 5: Pour the honey sauce over the chicken and let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on each side, allowing the sauce to caramelize and coat the chicken.
  • Step 6: Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. Drizzle any remaining sauce over the top.

Notes

Serve with steamed jasmine rice or a vibrant quinoa salad. For something crunchier, consider fresh green beans or a simple cucumber salad.
