Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg

Filling Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 0.25 cup powdered sugar
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped

Glaze Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar for the glaze
  • 2 tbsp milk for the glaze
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract for the glaze

Instructions

  • 1️⃣ In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Stir until dissolved and let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  • 2️⃣ Add melted butter, vanilla extract, egg, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir to combine, then knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • 3️⃣ Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  • 4️⃣ For the filling, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and sour cream until smooth. Fold in chopped strawberries.
  • 5️⃣ Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a large rectangle.
  • 6️⃣ Spread the cheesecake filling evenly over the dough, then roll it up tightly. Slice into 12 equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
  • 7️⃣ Cover and let rise for another 30-40 minutes.
  • 8️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  • 9️⃣ For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • 🔟 Drizzle the glaze over slightly cooled rolls before serving.

Notes

For a twist, substitute strawberries with raspberries or blueberries. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat before serving.
