  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink; drain excess fat.
  • In a large bowl, combine sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, salt, and pepper.
  • Layer half of the noodles in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Top with half of the beef mixture and half of the sour cream mixture.
  • Repeat the layers, finishing with the sour cream mixture on top.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the casserole.
  • Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, or until heated through and bubbly.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add garlic powder or Worcestershire sauce to the beef mixture. You can also mix in veggies like mushrooms or peas for added nutrition.
