Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2.75 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1.5 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons Milk
  • Extra granulated sugar for rolling

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and milk, mixing until fully combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until incorporated.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough and roll each into a ball. Gently roll each ball in extra granulated sugar to coat.
  • Place the dough balls about 2 inches apart on a lined baking sheet.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden but the centers still look soft.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe bag for up to three months.
