Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Pan
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Floured Surface

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1.25 cups warm milk
  • 0.25 cups olive oil or avocado oil
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 piece egg white (plus 2 tablespoons water for egg wash)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing after baking)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix the yeast and sugar. Add the warm milk and let it bubble for about 5 minutes.
  • Add the olive oil, salt, and eggs into the yeast mixture and whisk until well combined.
  • Gradually add in the flour, one cup at a time, mixing with a wooden spoon until a soft dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough and divide it into 24 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball.
  • Arrange the dough balls in a greased baking pan and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Brush the tops with the egg wash for a golden finish.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Once baked, brush the tops with melted butter for extra flavor.
  • Let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, use fresh yeast. Ensure your milk is warm but not too hot to avoid killing the yeast. Kneading the dough properly helps create the perfect fluffy texture.
