Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef, raw
  • 5 small to medium Potatoes, peeled and diced Cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese Packed
  • 1 cup Onion, chopped About 1 onion
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For tossing potatoes
  • 1 8 oz can Tomato sauce Room temperature
  • 1/4 cup Ketchup Room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce Room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon Yellow mustard Room temperature
  • 1–2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce To taste
  • 1 tablespoon Minced garlic Or 3 cloves fresh, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt Plus more to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper Freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • Salt and pepper To taste, for finishing
  • Garlic powder To taste, for potatoes
  • Paprika To taste, for potatoes

Instructions

  • 1. Cook the Potatoes: Peel and dice the potatoes into bite-sized cubes. Toss them with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Air fry at 400°F for about 20 minutes, shaking the basket occasionally. Alternatively, roast at 425°F for 25–30 minutes, turning once halfway through.
  • 2. Prepare the Sloppy Joe Mixture: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until browned and softened, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess grease if needed. Season with salt, black pepper, onion powder, and paprika. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  • 3. Simmer Sauces: Add Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, ketchup, yellow mustard, and BBQ sauce to the skillet. Stir well, reduce heat to low, and let simmer for 5–7 minutes.
  • 4. Combine and Finish: Once the potatoes are crispy, add them to the skillet with the sloppy joe mixture. Stir gently to coat the potatoes and distribute the beef. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  • 5. Melt the Cheese: Place the skillet under the broiler for 2–4 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Watch closely to avoid burning.
  • 6. Serve: Serve hot straight from the skillet and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3–4 days. You can freeze the cooked mixture (without cheese) for up to 2 months.
