Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine the thinly sliced steak with cornstarch and 2 tablespoons soy sauce. Toss well to coat and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
In a small bowl, whisk together the sauce ingredients: 1/4 cup soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, sugar, and water. Stir until well combined.
Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak and sear for about 3 to 4 minutes until browned.
In the same skillet, add the remaining sesame oil. Add the sliced onion, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper. Stir-fry for 2 minutes, then add garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for another 2 to 3 minutes.
Return the beef to the skillet, pour in the prepared sauce, and stir to combine. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
Serve immediately over steamed rice or noodles.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently to avoid toughening the steak.
