Equipment

  • Large saucepan
  • 9x13 inch Baking Dish

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 10 oz marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • Sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  • In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in salt.
  • Add Rice Krispies cereal and stir until well coated. Press the mixture evenly into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Set aside to cool.
  • For the caramel sauce, heat sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it melts and turns deep amber.
  • Add cubed butter and stir until melted. Slowly pour in heavy cream while stirring continuously. Be cautious as the mixture will bubble.
  • Remove from heat and stir in sea salt. Let caramel cool slightly before use.
  • Drizzle salted caramel sauce over the cooled Rice Krispie treats.
  • For extra indulgence, add more caramel and a sprinkle of sea salt on top.
  • Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy!

Notes

Use fresh marshmallows for the best texture. Grease the baking dish well to prevent sticking. Adjust sea salt to taste for the perfect balance.
