Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Mushrooms

  • 1 pound mushrooms (button or cremini), wiped clean and halved if large

Garlic

  • 4-5 cloves garlic, minced

Olive Oil

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Seasoning

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Balsamic Vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional, for a tangy touch)

Fresh Herbs

  • Fresh herbs (like thyme or parsley), chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). While the oven heats up, line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy clean-up.
  • Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel. If they are on the larger side, slice them in half; smaller mushrooms can be left whole.
  • In a large bowl, toss the mushrooms with the minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper. If using balsamic vinegar, add it here for an extra layer of flavor.
  • Spread the mushroom mixture in a single layer on your prepared baking sheet.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until the mushrooms are golden and tender and the garlic is fragrant.
  • Remove from the oven and transfer to a serving dish. Finish with a generous sprinkle of fresh chopped herbs like parsley or thyme.
  • Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the pan to ensure even roasting. Fresh herbs enhance the flavor significantly.
