Ingredients

Mushrooms

  • 12 large mushrooms, stems removed

Filling

  • 1 cup crabmeat, finely chopped Use fresh for best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup celery, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet.
  • Clean the mushrooms using a damp cloth and hollow out the caps carefully to make room for the stuffing.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the crabmeat, softened cream cheese, green onions, diced celery, grated parmesan cheese, minced garlic, and Old Bay seasoning. Season with salt and pepper to your taste.
  • Fill each mushroom cap with the crab mixture and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter, then sprinkle this mixture over the stuffed mushrooms.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  • Serve hot as an appetizer or side dish.

Notes

For the best flavor, use fresh crabmeat. Prepare the stuffing in advance for easy assembly before baking. Try adding cheddar cheese or substituting shrimp for a variation.
