Dough Ingredients
2 1/4teaspoonsactive dry yeast
1 1/3cupswarm water (110°F)
1teaspoonsugar
3 1/2cupsall-purpose flour
2tablespoonsolive oil
2teaspoonssalt
1teaspoongarlic powder (optional)for flavor
Instructions
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and garlic powder if you’re using it.
Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture. Stir until the dough starts to come together.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 7-8 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Once it has risen, punch down the dough and divide it into two equal parts for your pizzas.
Roll out the dough to your desired size and thickness.
Pre-bake the dough in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for about 7-8 minutes before adding your toppings.
Notes
Make sure your water is warm, not hot, to keep the yeast alive. Knead the dough until it feels smooth; this helps develop the gluten for a better texture.
