Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Deep Fryer or Large Skillet
  • Meat Mallet

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Dairy

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 pieces eggs

Breading

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • as needed cups oil for frying

Instructions

  • Flatten the chicken breasts to an even thickness using a meat mallet for even cooking.
  • In a bowl, mix buttermilk and eggs together until well combined.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt.
  • Dip each chicken breast into the buttermilk mixture, then dredge it in the flour mixture, making sure to coat it fully.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry the chicken breasts for about 6-7 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Once done, drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces and sides.

Notes

For extra tenderness, let the chicken marinate in the buttermilk for a couple of hours before frying. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding for even cooking.
