Ingredients

Fruits

  • 5-6 cups peeled and sliced apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or your favorite variety)

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 unit unbeaten egg
  • 1/3 cup melted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9×9 inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  • Arrange sliced apples evenly in the bottom of the dish.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and unbeaten egg until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over the apples.
  • Drizzle melted butter over the topping.
  • Bake for 30–40 minutes, until apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.

Notes

Use a mix of apple varieties for depth of flavor. Add oats or chopped nuts to the topping for extra texture. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
