  • 1/2 cup Butter 1 stick
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 3/4 cup All-purpose flour
  • 4 pieces Eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar optional, 1/2–1 tablespoon
  • Sugar for sprinkling
  • Honey for serving
  • Whipped cream or fruit optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin pan.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan, add milk, and bring to a low boil.
  • Stir in flour all at once until a smooth dough forms and pulls from sides of the pan.
  • Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly until glossy and smooth.
  • Spoon into muffin cups, filling 2/3 full. Sprinkle sugar if desired.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  • Cool slightly and serve warm with honey, whipped cream, or fruit.

Notes

Add a splash of vanilla for flavor. Use almond milk for dairy-free version. Great with fruit, whipped cream, or jam.
