Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Baking Sheet

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1.25 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 1.25 cups Light Brown Sugar packed
  • 0.25 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1 cup Evaporated Milk
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted Butter 1 stick
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups Chopped Pecans

Instructions

  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and set aside.
  • In a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, light brown sugar, salt, evaporated milk, and butter.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the mixture comes to a steady boil, about 5–6 minutes.
  • Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until it thickens slightly and reaches a soft-ball stage, about 8–10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and chopped pecans.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each mound.
  • Allow to cool and set at room temperature for about 20–30 minutes.
  • Enjoy right away or store in an airtight container!

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. For longer storage, freeze wrapped pralines for up to 3 months.
