  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it well.
  • In a bowl, mix melted butter, flour, granulated sugar, and salt to form a dough.
  • Press dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
  • Bake the crust for 15-18 minutes, until lightly golden. Set aside to cool.
  • In another bowl, whisk together pecans, brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour pecan mixture over the pre-baked crust, spreading evenly.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, until filling is set and golden.
  • Allow bars to cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the filling. You can also mix in 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips for a delicious twist!
