Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup hot fudge sauce plus extra for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a standard loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
  • Add the eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and milk to the dry ingredients. Stir until the batter is smooth and glossy with no lumps.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips gently, spreading the chocolatey goodness evenly throughout the batter.
  • Pour about half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Drizzle half of the hot fudge sauce over the batter in a swirling motion. Then add the remaining half of the batter on top, smoothing it out evenly. Finish with the remaining hot fudge drizzled across the top for a beautiful, fudgy finish.
  • Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean — a few moist crumbs are perfect to ensure it’s nice and gooey inside.
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing. Serve warm with extra hot fudge sauce if desired.

Notes

Store tightly wrapped at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months.
