Equipment

  • Large saucepan
  • Sterilized jars

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and chopped
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional) Add during the last 5 minutes of cooking if desired.

Instructions

  • In a large saucepan, combine the chopped peaches, sugar, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring often.
  • Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  • If using cinnamon, stir it in during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
  • When the jam has thickened to your liking, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.
  • Pour the warm jam into sterilized jars, seal them, and store in the refrigerator or process them for longer shelf life.

Notes

Use ripe peaches for the best flavor. If you prefer a smoother jam, blend it slightly before cooling. For longer storage, follow proper canning procedures.
