Popcorn Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Popcorn Kernels
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil Can substitute with coconut or canola oil.
  • 1/3 cup Sugar Adjust to taste for sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt To taste.

Instructions

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  • Add 3 popcorn kernels and cover the pot.
  • Once these kernels pop, add the remaining popcorn kernels and sugar, stirring quickly to coat them evenly.
  • Cover the pot and gently shake it back and forth over the burner. Shake it often to prevent the sugar from burning.
  • When the popping slows down to several seconds between pops, remove the pot from heat.
  • Keep the lid on until the popping stops completely.
  • Pour the kettle corn into a large bowl, sprinkle with salt, and toss to ensure it’s evenly seasoned.
  • Allow the kettle corn to cool for a few minutes before serving to avoid burns.
