Instructions
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
Add 3 popcorn kernels and cover the pot.
Once these kernels pop, add the remaining popcorn kernels and sugar, stirring quickly to coat them evenly.
Cover the pot and gently shake it back and forth over the burner. Shake it often to prevent the sugar from burning.
When the popping slows down to several seconds between pops, remove the pot from heat.
Keep the lid on until the popping stops completely.
Pour the kettle corn into a large bowl, sprinkle with salt, and toss to ensure it’s evenly seasoned.
Allow the kettle corn to cool for a few minutes before serving to avoid burns.
