Instructions

  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and salt until smooth.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until everything is well incorporated.
  • Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and peppermint extract. Mix until the dough becomes smooth and stiff.
  • If you want, divide the dough into small portions and knead in food coloring until the color is uniform.
  • Roll the dough into thin ropes and cut them into small pillow shapes, or use a mold to create fun shapes.
  • Let the mints dry on parchment paper at room temperature for about 4-6 hours. Turn them halfway through so they dry evenly.
  • Store the mints in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
