  • 1 box Chocolate Cake Mix Any brand or variety you love.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Melted.
  • 1/3 cup Evaporated Milk
  • 1 cup Chopped Pecans
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Caramel Bits Or soft caramels, unwrapped and roughly chopped.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, melted butter, and evaporated milk. Mix until a soft, thick dough forms.
  • Press about two-thirds of the dough evenly into the bottom of your prepared pan to form the base layer.
  • Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the dough. Next, scatter the caramel bits across the top, and then follow with the chocolate chips.
  • Take the remaining third of the dough and drop small spoonfuls over the top, covering as much of the filling as possible.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center looks just slightly underdone.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Once fully cooled, slice into squares or bars and serve.

Notes

Store leftover cake bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer-term storage, wrap individual bars in plastic wrap and freeze for up to 2 months.
