  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 lb penne pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once it’s melted, add the minced garlic and sliced sausage. Cook until browned and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until it’s al dente. Once done, drain the pasta.
  • In the skillet with the sausage, pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  • Reduce the heat and add the grated Parmesan cheese to the skillet. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes creamy.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat it with that lovely creamy sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve the pasta with the garlic butter sausage bites on top, garnished with fresh basil for added flavor.
