Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Skillet
  • Shallow Dish

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 package cream cheese, softened 8 oz
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 slices bread (white or brioche)
  • 4 large strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • vegetable oil (for frying)
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture on 4 slices of bread. Top with sliced strawberries and another slice of bread to form sandwiches.
  • In one shallow dish, mix flour, cinnamon, and salt. In another, combine eggs and milk.
  • Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry sandwiches 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with granulated sugar and dust with powdered sugar. Serve warm.

Notes

Use brioche for a richer flavor. Strawberries can be swapped with blueberries or bananas. For a dairy-free version, try vegan cream cheese and plant-based milk.
