Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and cook for 20-25 minutes until caramelized, stirring occasionally.
Pour in beef broth and let it reduce by half. Set aside to cool.
In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Gruyère cheese, eggs, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Incorporate the cooled onion mixture into the beef mixture, blending evenly.
Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.
Bake for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve and enjoy!
