Topping
6tablespoonsbrown sugar
6teaspoonswater
3tablespoonsbuttermelted
1/2cupcoarsely chopped pecans
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
In a small saucepan (or microwave-safe bowl), combine the brown sugar, butter, and water. Heat until the butter melts and the mixture becomes syrupy, stirring occasionally.
Pour the caramel mixture evenly into the bottom of your prepared pan.
Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the caramel sauce.
Open the crescent roll tube and roll the dough out flat. If using pre-cut triangles, press the seams together to make one sheet.
Starting from one long side, roll up the dough jelly-roll style into a log.
Cut into 8 even slices.
Arrange the slices, cut-side up, on top of the pecan mixture in the pan.
Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the buns are golden brown and cooked through.
Remove from the oven and let rest for 2 minutes. Carefully invert the pan onto a serving plate so the sticky pecan topping is on top.
Serve warm and enjoy the gooey, nutty treat!
Notes
For the best buns, use fresh pecans and real butter. You can substitute walnuts or almonds if needed.
