Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 tube crescent rolls 8-count tube

Topping

  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 6 teaspoons water
  • 3 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
  • In a small saucepan (or microwave-safe bowl), combine the brown sugar, butter, and water. Heat until the butter melts and the mixture becomes syrupy, stirring occasionally.
  • Pour the caramel mixture evenly into the bottom of your prepared pan.
  • Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the caramel sauce.
  • Open the crescent roll tube and roll the dough out flat. If using pre-cut triangles, press the seams together to make one sheet.
  • Starting from one long side, roll up the dough jelly-roll style into a log.
  • Cut into 8 even slices.
  • Arrange the slices, cut-side up, on top of the pecan mixture in the pan.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the buns are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and let rest for 2 minutes. Carefully invert the pan onto a serving plate so the sticky pecan topping is on top.
  • Serve warm and enjoy the gooey, nutty treat!

Notes

For the best buns, use fresh pecans and real butter. You can substitute walnuts or almonds if needed.
