Ingredients

Crust Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.25 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Filling Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1.5 cups packed brown sugar light or dark as preferred
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups chopped pecans, toasted if possible

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, softened butter, granulated sugar, and salt until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  • Bake the crust for about 20 minutes until lightly golden.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Stir in chopped pecans into the filling mixture.
  • Pour the pecan mixture over the hot crust and bake for an additional 30 minutes until the filling is set.
  • Cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into squares.

Notes

For cleaner slices, chill the bars before cutting and use a sharp knife wiped between cuts.
