  • 16 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 4 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped dill pickles
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped dill
  • 1/2 cup shredded or chopped cheddar cheese for coating
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped dill for coating
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest for coating

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  • Add garlic powder, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until fluffy.
  • Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped dill pickles, and fresh chopped dill until evenly distributed.
  • Place two long strips of plastic wrap in an ‘X’ on a flat surface. Spoon the mixture into the center and wrap tightly into a ball. Chill for at least 2 hours.
  • After chilling, mix coating ingredients (cheddar, dill, lemon zest) on a plate. Unwrap cheese ball and roll in coating until fully covered.
  • Serve with crackers or veggies and enjoy!

Notes

This cheese ball can be made up to 24 hours in advance and stored in the fridge. Try adding chopped jalapeños for a spicy kick or substituting sweet pickles for a sweeter twist.
