Equipment

  • 9x13 inch Baking Dish
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Pecans, chopped
  • 1 can (15 oz) Sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup Corn syrup light or dark
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) Yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, sliced into thin pats
  • 1 cup Water

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.
  • Sprinkle your chopped pecans evenly across the bottom of the prepared dish.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the sweetened condensed milk, corn syrup, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until thoroughly combined.
  • Pour this gooey mixture over the pecans, letting it soak in.
  • Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the pecan layer. Spread gently so that it covers every corner but do not mix.
  • Arrange the butter pats evenly over the top of the cake mix, covering as much surface as possible.
  • Carefully spoon the water over the entire mixture, covering the surface as evenly as you can.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbling and the edges are set.
  • Allow the cake to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. For extra decadence, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or freshly whipped cream!
