Ingredients

For the Mushrooms

  • 1 lb button mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko for extra crunch
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For the Ranch Dip

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • 1. In a small mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, fresh dill, chives, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper. Mix until smooth and refrigerate.
  • 2. In a shallow dish, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Place beaten eggs in another dish and breadcrumbs in a third.
  • 3. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • 4. Dredge each mushroom slice in flour mixture, dip in eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  • 5. Fry mushrooms in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  • 6. Serve immediately with cool ranch dip.

Notes

For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs. Avoid microwaving leftovers, as they may turn soggy.
