Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Casserole Dish

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 1 small head Cabbage, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil

Instructions

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook for about 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet. Cook, stirring often, for about 8 minutes until the cabbage starts to soften.
  • Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream and sour cream. Mix well until combined and warmed through.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F. Transfer the mixture into a greased casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  • Allow the casserole to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, use ground turkey or chicken. You can also add other vegetables like mushrooms or bell peppers.
