Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish for easy cleanup.
In a skillet, melt margarine over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, sautéed onions, both soups, and half of the grated cheese.
Spread the mixture evenly into the greased baking dish. Top with the remaining cheese.
Place in the oven and bake uncovered for 45–55 minutes, or until golden and bubbling around the edges.
Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow everything to set. Dig in and enjoy!
Notes
For a crispy top, sprinkle crushed cornflakes or buttery breadcrumbs before baking.
