Ingredients

Chicken

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Broth

  • 6 cups chicken broth

Dumpling Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk

Seasoning

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil.
  • Add the chicken breasts and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until fully cooked.
  • Remove the chicken, shred it, and set it aside. Keep the broth simmering.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until it looks like coarse crumbs.
  • Gradually add the milk, stirring until a dough forms.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness and cut it into small squares.
  • Drop the dumplings into the simmering broth and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until they float and are cooked through.
  • Return the shredded chicken to the pot and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for another 5 minutes before serving.
