Ingredients

For the Crab Mixture

  • 1 lb fresh crab meat
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Bread

  • 1 large French baguette or sourdough loaf
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix crab meat, mayonnaise, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, green onions, parsley, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to enhance flavor.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet.
  • Mix melted butter and minced garlic, then brush over the cut sides of the bread.
  • Spread the chilled crab mixture evenly over the bread halves.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is golden brown.
