Crab Brulee Ingredients

  • 1 cup Fresh crab meat A mix of lump and claw for the best texture.
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream For a luxurious feel.
  • 2 large Egg yolks To bind the mix and make it custard-like.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter For cooking the crab and adding flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated sugar For caramelizing the topping.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking dish or ramekins with coarse salt for the crab mixture.
  • Mix the crab meat with the heavy cream in a bowl.
  • Put the crab-cream mix into the dishes, but don’t fill them too much.
  • In another bowl, beat the egg yolks with a bit of sugar until they’re light and creamy.
  • Drizzle the egg yolk mix over the crab, making sure it covers evenly.
  • Bake the crab brulee for 20-25 minutes. It should be set around the edges and a bit jiggly in the middle.
  • Let the dishes cool a bit before adding a thin sugar layer on top.
  • Use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until it’s golden-brown and crisp.

Notes

Serve with artisanal bread or crackers for guests to enjoy every bit. Pair it with a side salad or roasted veggies for a complete dish.
