  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp fine salt
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream room temperature

Instructions

  • Beat the room-temperature butter in a bowl until smooth and pale, about 2–3 minutes.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing well after each addition until smooth.
  • Stir in vanilla extract and salt. Blend well to combine.
  • Slowly add in heavy cream while mixing until desired creamy consistency is achieved.

Notes

Add more cream (1 tbsp at a time) if icing is too thick, or extra powdered sugar if too thin. Great on cinnamon rolls, muffins, pancakes, and as a fruit dip. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 1 month.
